Establishing a prairie strip
Source: Echo-Y Farms
Protecting our water channels by installing a prairie buffer strip along a creek. As these take years to fully get established, we can’t wait to see the end result. Funding from One Good Idea, seed from the Bee and Butterfly Fund, and design and establishment from the Sand County Foundation.
Darren was a recipient of a Good Idea Mini-Grant, a program to encourage the adoption of edge-of-field practices and farmer-to-farmer learning about them. Good Idea Mini-Grants were made possible with funding from the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research (FFAR) and Walton Family Foundation.
