Installing Solar Powered Water Pumps on Rotationally Grazed Pasture in Minnesota

Jeff Grove, Rancher/Producer shows his solar powered watering system for his cattle to Candi Fuller, District Conservationist, NRCS, and John Brezinka, District Conservationist, NRCS. Jeff rotationally grazes his 100 cow/calf pairs on 400 acres of pasture that he rents and owns in Cass County Minnesota. Jeff also discusses how he used the NRCS’s Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) to install high tensile fencing around his paddocks. Jeff talks about how the rotational grazing of his cattle has greatly increased the efficacy of his operation. And he shows how the solar powered water pumps have been maintenance free, very reliable and will likely pay for themselves within 3 years.
